Genuine competitive exposure for young cricketers
Technique that has never been tested under pressure is a hypothesis. The Kreedangana Junior Cricket Championship exists to test it — a properly officiated 20-over tournament for Under-12 and Under-14 teams from academies and schools across Bengaluru and Karnataka.
Why teams enter
Matches are played on turf wickets that behave like the surfaces these players will be selected on, with neutral qualified umpires and full scoring. Teams get a genuine competitive test against strong opposition — which is precisely what visiting academies tell us they came for.
Format
Sixteen teams per age category, drawn into four groups. Group stage across the first two weekends, knockouts in the third. Every team plays a minimum of three matches. Standard junior playing conditions apply, including bowling restrictions appropriate to each age group.
Player welfare
Age-appropriate bowling limits are enforced, hydration breaks are scheduled into every match, first aid is on site throughout, and all matches are played on natural grass. Age verification is required at registration.
Awards
Champion and runner-up trophies per category, plus Player of the Tournament, Best Batsman, Best Bowler and Best Fielder awards in each age group. Every participating player receives a certificate.
